Our RE Curriculum

As a Catholic school, we hold RE as the 'core of the core' subject.  By this we mean that RE is embedded throughout our entire curriculum in all subject areas.

For our RE currriculum, we follow the 'Come and See' scheme of work as recommended by Liverpool Archdiocese.

Each term children study topics to develop their understanding of the following themes:

  • Church
  • Sacrament
  • Christian Living.

Each topic lasts for four weeks and follows this sequence:

  • Explore: pupil are introduced to the topic through their own experience.
  • Reveal: The children learn about the Catholic faith through Scripture.
  • Respond: Pupils reflect on and celebrate their learning which ends with a Prayer and liturgy.

For more information regarding RE in each year group please see documents below.

Other Faiths

As part of our Come and See programme, we have 'faith weeks' where the children will learn about other faiths, traditions, beliefs and special buildings.

We promote our pupils' learning of other faiths through class visits, guest speakers and through our involvement in the wider community.
